Clandestine Drug Laboratory Assessments
Network Environmental Systems, Inc. (NES) is a nationally recognized leader in clandestine laboratory safety. NES has conducted clandestine laboratory training throughout the United States and Canada, and performed property contamination assessments throughout California. NES has developed and trained clandestine laboratory safety classes for law enforcement, health professionals and environmental firms for almost two decades. NES recently assisted the California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal-EPA) in the development of assessment standards and remediation procedures. NES performs clandestine laboratory assessments which conform to EPA and NIOSH sampling and testing methods. NES provides specific recommendations for property decontamination based on analytical results, on-site observations, and local agency requirements.
Clandestine Laboratory Assessment Services
  • Background research with property owner, state and local health officials and law enforcement.
  • Preliminary Site Assessment (PSA)
    • Residential wipe and/or bulk samples for precursors and methamphetamine.
    • Property soil and/or water samples for chemical contamination.
  • Liaison with state and local health officials.
  • PSA Remediation Work Plans:
    • Develop detailed remediation contractor work plan.
    • Seek consensus with local health officials prior to the start of work, where possible.
    • Perform post-remediation verification sampling to validate building meets re-occupancy criteria.

  • Residential and Commercial Property Owners
NES has performed numerous property assessments throughout California for over 15 years. Services include contact with the health department, a site visit to take samples, laboratory coordination, and a report of findings and recommendations presented to the property owner and health department.
  • Clandestine Laboratory Assessment Research
NES has conducted independent studies and published articles in national ClanLab journals on clandestine laboratory assessment and clandestine laboratory hazards and sampling methodology.
  • Clandestine Laboratory Training
NES is nationally recognized for clandestine drug laboratory safety training, and is the exclusive provider of Clan Lab safety training to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).
